bottlers note: Aroma: Zuerst kommt Vanille in die Nase, gefolgt von einer Mischung aus verschiedenen Honigsorten. Fudge, Aprikose und Ananas führen zu frischer Feige.
Geschmack: Ein reichhaltiger und sehr komplexer Gaumen mit Sultaninen, wieder Aprikosen und einem Hauch von rauchigem Holz.
Ein langer und süßer Nachklang mit angenehmem Gewicht.

Aberlour malt, re-charred American oak barrels 25,1%
Miltonduff malt, first fill bourbon barrels 16,6%
Bowmore malt, refill bourbon barrels 7,1%
blended malt parcel, refill sherry butts 25,8%
blended Scotch parcel, primarily first fill bourbon barrels 4,9%
blended grain parcel, refill bourbon barrels 20,5%
Besonderheit: non chill-filtered, natural colour, limited editon 5910 Flaschen.

Beteiligt sind malts von Aberlour und Miltonduff, ein parcel blended Scotch gefinished in sherry butts, grain whisky oder whiskies und malt von Bowmore.
Vorgänger waren Ultramarine und Delos im Extinct Blends Quartet.
"Für unser drittes release im Extinct Blends Quartet, Metropolis, betreten wir das Gedränge einer aufstrebenden Stadt im Wandel der Zeit. Blended Scotch begann in der Metropole, mit blending vats in Glasgow und Edinburgh, die Flaschen für den Großstadtdschungel auf der ganzen Welt produzierten. Die Seele des Blended Scotch wohnt weiterhin in der Stadt."
Inspiration für den Metropolis soll der blend The Antiquary sein, dieser wiederum inspiriert vom Roman „The Antiquary“ von Sir Walter Scott. Der The Antiquary blend wird noch gemacht ???
"Bottles of Scotch whisky are time capsules. Even more than single malts, blends can reflect the production methods and philosophies that prevailed in Scotland during specific eras. Scotch is constantly evolving, and blends aggregate these trends and adaptations.
Fashions change, and formulae follow suit. Blended whiskies of the 1970s, '80s and '90s are very different to today’s versions, even when the brand name remains the same. The Extinct Blends Quartet reimagines four of our favourite blended Scotches from yesteryear, using some of our rarest and most idiosyncratic stocks of whisky."
