matured in a peated ex-rye whiskey cask.... Raasay verwendet amerikanische ex-rye barrels (190 ltr.) aus der Woodford Reserve Distillery, Kentucky, wo sie 53% Roggen in ihrer mash bill für ihren rye verwenden.
Raasy selbst mach malt aus getorfter Gerste, mit Hochlandtorf gemälzt, was dem spirit eine sanfte, duftende Rauchigkeit verleiht. Die ppm Zahl (Torf- oder Phenolteile pro Million) des Torfmalzes beträgt 48-52.
Könnte bedeuten, ein getorfter malt von Raasys gereift in den ex-rye casks...
Das Ganze dann nochmals im Palo Cortado sherry cask gefinished.
