We’re keeping this to ourselves, for now, to encourage drinkers to experience this whisky without preconception and to first describe the ‘phenomena’ of the liquid for themselves, in their own words and ideas.

Ausbau: Oak Casks

Besonderheit: non chill-filtered, natural colour, limited edition 7908 Flaschen.
Zusammen mit dem Blended Malt "No Name" Anfang Oktober 2017 auf der Compass Box homepage erschienen. Die Packung einnert an den Yellow Submarine Stil der Beatles.
Ansonsten keine Angaben zu nichts, im Gegenteil….
„Rather than try to settle on whose perceptions were ‘right’ or ‘wrong’, we were inspired by the phenomenological school of thought to consider how different people experience the same phenomenon. For this release, we will not provide the typical recipe information including component whiskies or any description of the aromas and f lavours of the whisky on the packaging and launch materials.
Instead, in celebration of the subjectivity of whisky tasting, we are inviting consumers to first experience the whisky for themselves without preconception. And, so, you have… Phenomenology, a limited edition Compass Box whisky.“

Das Ganze wird philosophisch begründet: "Phenomenology is a way of thinking about ourselves and the very personal, subjective nature of experience. It’s a school of thought in psychology that focuses on phenomena, or, the experiences that we get from our senses – what we see, taste, smell, etc. Somehow, we saw a link between phenomenology and whisky. We’d long been working on a blend of single malts that combines seemingly dissonant flavour profiles, but together creates something compelling. They end by saying Describe the whisky any way you like. There are no right or wrong answers. Your experience is your own, personal and subjective. Customers can request information about Phenomenology at any time via e-mail or social media, but the exact recipe will remain secret."
